Based in Dallas, TX, Thriving Children Regardless is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that gives an opportunity for underprivileged youth to focus on their creativity with performing arts in a positive environment while giving back to their communities with community service events. Always keep God first!
We are a veteran owned, faith base organization ready to see children THRIVE in everyday life and God! We believe by sharing PASSION, instilling DISCIPLINE, showing FAITH, expressing CREATIVITY, and providing SERVICE, we can help the youth reach their goals regardless of situations that may surface.
One way we believe to achieve these goals is DANCE! Dance is a hobby most kids enjoy, but dance has many benefits for everyday life! It increases flexibility, reduces stress and depression, and enhances your memory preventing dementia as we age. Many youth between the ages of 11-15 are going through puberty, experiencing physical and emotional changes, and learning to adapt to middle and high school, which can be hard at times and teaching the youth dance skills can help with the stress.
Our organization will host a performing arts camp every summer, T.C.R. Camp. More information about the camp can be found in the menu bar.
We also want the youth to THRIVE not just with performing arts but within their communities as well! We will host Monthly Mentoring Meetings in which the youth will come out and help with different community service events in the DFW areas.
We are always looking for volunteers to help out! If you are interested please fill out the contact us form. Lets Continue to THRIVE!!
Whitney Ricketts was born and raised in Kansas City, MO and grew up dancing since the age of 3. She graduated with her Bachelor's in Fine Arts and a minor in Business Management from UMKC.
Whitney has danced for some of the top NBA/NFL teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders, Oklahoma City Thunder Girls, Texas Legends, and Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blues dance team.
One of her greatest accomplishments was joining the Army National Guard in 2014 as a Private. After 8 years she is now a full time Recruiter / Drill Sergeant as a Staff Sergeant. She plans to make a career from the military if God allows her too.
At the age of 11, Whitney went to a dance camp called Ailey Camp in Kansas City, MO. She learned so much from the instructors, not just about dance but everyday life. She began to come out of her shyness phase and opened up to others about her dreams and goals in life. Once old enough, she returned and gave back to the community by becoming a group leader and tap instructor to the camp for a few years.
While mentoring several students throughout the years, she began understanding the major effect a program can have on a child's life. Thus, sparked her interest in starting this movement for the past couple years.
Finding the name for the Organization wasn't easy for her as it took several months. In May 2022, Thriving Children Regardless came into her mind and once she wrote it down she knew instantly and cried. A close friend of hers recently passed away in March 2022, Tyris, and TCR are his initials. This organization will live through him as he also was a dancer and loved helping children.
Now finally putting this dream into action, she cannot wait to impact children's lives and to see them THRIVE!
